Who collects and holds your information
Personal information collected through this site is held by CORMS Ltd, operating on behalf of the Tamaroa Trust. CORMS Ltd is the responsible party for the purposes of the Privacy Act 2020.
What information is collected
This site collects personal information in the following circumstances:
When you subscribe to the email list, your first name and email address are collected and held via Mailchimp, a third party email service. No other personal information is collected at that point.
When you submit content through the Voices and Issues page or by email, your name, email address, and the content of your submission are collected.
When you participate in a recorded interview for Jack Lack’s Listening Chair, your name, voice, image, and the content of your interview are collected. This is governed by a formal consent declaration completed before the interview takes place.
How your information is used
Email addresses collected through the signup form are used solely to send updates from Jack Lack’s Listening Chair. They are not used for any other purpose.
Submissions received through the Voices and Issues page or by email are used solely for the purposes of this project, which may include publication in whole or in part on this site. Your name will only be used with your permission.
Interview recordings are used for publication on this site in accordance with the consent declaration signed or given before the interview.
Third party services
This site uses Mailchimp to manage the email list. Mailchimp is an independent service with its own privacy policy, available at mailchimp.com. Email addresses held by Mailchimp are subject to both this policy and Mailchimp’s own privacy policy. Your email address will not be passed to any other third party.
This site may from time to time include embedded content from other websites, including video. Embedded content behaves as if you have visited the originating website and may collect data, use cookies, or track your interaction with that content. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those services.
How long your information is retained
Email addresses are retained on the Mailchimp list for as long as you remain subscribed. On unsubscription your address is removed promptly on request.
Submissions received by email or through the Voices and Issues page are retained for the duration of the project unless you request their removal.
Interview recordings and associated personal information are retained indefinitely in accordance with the consent declaration, which survives the interviewee’s death.
Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for access to personal information held about you, and to request correction of that information if it is inaccurate. Requests should be directed to the contact address below and will be responded to promptly.
